Different classes and activities
Budo Gouweleeuw is aimed at recreational sport. This means we try to explore as many facets of judo and jiu jistu as possible. We offer classes focused on competition, by also form and technical execution. We organize workshops and exchanges that let you become acquainted with other (budo) sports and budokas. You shall see that every club has their own ways of doing things! Continuing this, we also attach a great deal of value on social development and the association-life. At Budo Gouweleeuw, you can participate in various (budo) activities, ranging from centralized exams to a fox hunt or movie night. We think it is important that everybody should be able to participate in budo sports. It is therefore we offer judo lessons for specific target audiences.
Tumble-judo
Kids can’t sit still. Trough movement they develop their motor skills, which will reap a life-worth of profit. Specially for the youngest, we at Budo Gouweleeuw added toddler judo to the lessons program. Your toddler will be playfully introduced to the core principles of movement.
Who is tumble-judo meant for?
Tumble-judo is for all boys and girls age 2 or 3 years old. In an open-aired environment toddlers will learn to move and fall in a safe and secure manner. This slinks the fear of hurting oneself. By means of a judo-derived method, kids will learn to deal with physical contact. Tumble-judo is thus something that is done together. By moving together, trust is built and respectful interaction with peers is promoted. Children with performance anxiety will receive self-confidence and -esteem. Very active children will learn to contain and use their energy in a better way. For the tumble-judo class children can flow-through to another judo group.
Parent(s)
As a parent you can participate with your toddler in tumble-judo. It is necessary to not wear any jewelry or other sharp objects (such as belts) on the mat. This is beneficial to the safety of both yourself and your toddler. Jeans are forbidden, as these can damage the mat. We also request you to at least wear long sports trousers and a T-shirt (no sleeveless shirt or top).
Interested?
If you are interested, you can contact us using the contact form. It is also possible to participate in a free try-out. Join us to test the experience! Let your child get acquainted with this form of sport, a try-out has no consequences after all.
Who might be quieter? The children on the mat or the moms and dads at the side?
A-judo
For youth, judo means they can busy themselves with sport and can expect clear norms and values. Have you always wanted to judo in a small group, with close, personal attention? Whichever disability you have, apply and come join us sometime. Budo Gouweleeuw has specialized teachers with qualification to give modified judo lessons (aangepast judo in Dutch).
Who is a-judo meant for?
Children and youngsters with a disability can come to our dojo every wednesday at 15:00 at the Willem Bilderdijkhof. Judo enhances the condfidence and resilience. Very active children will learn to contain and use their energy in a better way. Judo is cool, judo is enjoyment, judo is balance, judo is respect. Respect for oneself and respect for each other. All elementary forms of movements (running, jumping, rolling, pushing, pulling, etc.) are playfully introduced and children learn to cope with physical contact.
Interested?
If you are interested, but also if you have questions or remarks, you can contact us using the contact form. It is also possible to follow a free trial lesson without any obligation. Budo Gouweleeuw collaborates with Stichting VTV judo for young people with disabilities. You can also come to Budo Gouweleeuw through this organization.
We don’t judo against each other, but with each other.
Haaglanden
Budo Gouweleeuw has a partnership with Lu Gia Jen (the Hague), Sport Accent (the Hague), and Yotosama (Zoetermeer) in the field of competitive judo. The foal of this collaboration is to enhance each judoka. For this purpose, collective trainings are organized on Thursdays. Participation is only possible if you are a member of the club or you are specifically invited. Our headmaster (in consultation with other teachers) decides who can participate. The trainings take place every Thursday in the dojo of Lu Gia Jen in the Hague:
- judokas up to -15 class at 18.00 – 19.30 hours
The trainings are organized in turn by teachers from the different clubs. They are meant as a supplement of trainings inside the club and not as a replacement.
In addition to training together, judokas from national team tournaments and individual competitions abroad will gather. The Judoteams Haaglanden will be registered at the district tournaments and measurement occasions for classes -15, -17, -20 and seniors.
